Event Update Errors

I had an event on my calendar that recurred annually in mid-March.
I wanted to change the event to recur annually on March 1.
In the Month view, I clicked/held/dragged the event from mid-March to March 1.
So far so, so good ( I think ). I did not notice any problem at this point.
Still in Month view, I double-clicked the March 1 event to update the recurring date.
I chose "Open this occurrence and all that follow".
( Today was not the first occurrence of this event. )
I then opened the recurrence tab in the event and updated the recurrence date to March 1.
I then clicked "Save and Close" for the updated event.
BUT THEN in the month view, the event had become "New Event" and had a new reminder.
( There was no reminder on the original mid-March event. )
To correct the situation, I created a brand new named event for March 1 with a yearly reminder.
So I have worked around this current error, but I suspect an underlting problem in VM.

Not to confuse this issue, but if it helps ...
I BELIEVE that in Month view I have double-clicked in empty space on a given future date
only to find that the new event was created for today, rather that the future date in which I double clicked.
I did not previously report ths behavior because I was not 100% sure that I did not make the mistake myself.
But I think it has happened more than once.
So maybe this other behavior will shed light on the cause of primary error of this post.

I am a few weeks behind on Windows updates because of supposed problems in recent Windows updates.

Hi John, thank you for the feedback. I haven't been able to duplicate the problems you saw, but I'll investigate further.

It happened again ...
I created a new event by double-clicking inside a date box on my month view.
After I saved/closed the event, it showed up on a completely different date.
( This does not happen all of the time. )
I found the new event and updated it's date to the correct date.
I cannot imagine what I could have done wrong to create the new event on the wrong date.
Double-clicking inside the desired date box is so hard to get wrong.

I am ok for now since I can find a new event and correct the date if needed.
Please tell me if there is a way that I can prove this behavior.
Have you added any logging to VM?

Please advise.

Hi John, unfortunately there isn't a log that would show why the event is getting created on the wrong date. So far, I haven't been able to duplicate the behavior you're seeing, but that's not to say that I don't think it's happening. I've seen all kinds of strange things.

It's possible uninstalling and reinstalling VueMinder could fix it, if you want to give that a try.
