Uninstall/reinstall

Post by MobyUK » Fri Aug 14, 2015 10:27 am

Hi. I'm getting some glitches in Vueminder Pro and I'm thinking an uninstall/reinstall would help.
Am I right in thinking I won't lose any of my calendar data?
Cheers
Moby

Hi Moby, as long as you use the Control Panel to uninstall (not something like Revo Uninstaller) all your existing data will be preserved and will still be present after you reinstall. You can also generate a backup prior to uninstalling by using the "Backup Data" command on the File menu.

Unfortunately I can't do a backup. I get an error that says:

"A backup could not be generated. The following error was encountered:
Index was outside the bounds of the array."

Hi Moby, the error you're seeing could happen if something is wrong with the data file. This might be related to the other problems you're seeing. Instead of using the Backup Data feature, export your data using the "Export" commands on the File menu. Each calendar should be exported to a separate iCalendar (ICS) file.

After exporting all your data, you can use the utility linked below to completely reset the data.

Next, reinstall VueMinder. After restarting VueMinder, use the "Import" commands on the File menu to import your previous data.

Hi. Got that sorted ok but now I can't stop the reinstall from being a trial.
In a previous email you said to enter my update protection code in "Help/About Vueminder".
The problem is there is no "About Vueminder" under "Help".

Hi Moby, it sounds like your license was somehow removed. Uninstalling via the Control Panel should not have removed your license. Did you use a different tool to uninstall?

In any case, I've sent you an email containing a link to download and re-install your license. Please let me know if you didn't receive the email or if you have any other questions.
