Hey guys, I have a problem with Vueminder not syncing with outlook 2013
In outlook, “My Calendars” had three sub calendars. But in Vueminder, when I try to import calendar, I just get one calendar. What am I doing wrong?
1. I start off with this in Outlook 2013:
My Calendars
- Courses
- Other
- Calendar (my default calendar)
2. I start off with this in Vueminder:
Notes
Tasks
3. I go to File > Add Calendar > Add Local Outlook Calendar
4. I get the "Add Local Outlook Calendar" dialogue box. In this dialogue box, there is only ONE option - Calendar. There is a check box beside it. I check the check box.
5. I click next and end up with:
My Calendars
- New Calendar
- Calendar (with a symbol on the left indicating Outlook sync)

Re: Vueminder not syncing with outlook 2013
Hi hasant4, welcome to the forums. VueMinder can only import calendars from Outlook that are stored locally in Outlook's .pst file. I'm guessing your sub calendars are stored externally, possibly on Exchange Server. If that's the case, you should be able to add the calendars by using the "Add Calendar -> Add Exchange Calendar" command on the File menu. See the documentation linked below for more details:

Re: Vueminder not syncing with outlook 2013
Hey! Thanx for the reply! This is a three part post, so bear with me lolz :p
Part 1
When I "Add Exchange Calendar" and put in all my information I get this error:
"Error connecting to microsoft exchange: the expected XML node type was XmlDeclaration, but the actual type is Element"
Part 2
Does this thread about Exchange Online vs. the free version of Outlook still apply? I don't have Office365, although I do have Outlook 2013...
http://www.vueminder.com/forums/phpBB3/ ... f=5&t=1664
My email is:
https://xxxx.mail.live.com/default.aspx
From the post above, would this mean I don't have Exchange Online, which means I won't be able to use the "Add Exchange Calendar" function?
Part 3
In Outlook 2013, under File > Info > Account Information, I have:
xxxxx@hotmail.com
Exchange ActiveSync
Does this mean I have Exchange ActiveSync?
Is Exchange ActiveSync the same as Exchange Online?
Will I be able to use the "Add Exchange Calendar" function?
Is 2 way sync possible with Outlook (free and the 365 version)?

Re: Vueminder not syncing with outlook 2013
Hi hasant4, thank you for the information. Outlook can apparently connect to Hotmail (aka Windows Live, aka Outlook.com) using Exchange ActiveSync. However, VueMinder doesn't use Exchange ActiveSync and can't connect that way. VueMinder connects using Exchange EWS (web services), which requires Exchange Server or Exchange Online.
I'll see if I can update VueMinder to support Exchange ActiveSync.
