I'm now the happy owner of a PrintableCal license, and am wanting to modify the List template to make things a bit simpler for my record-keeping.
At the moment I'm puzzled about the way cells are formatted on the fly.
If I set a cell format (fill, border, font etc) on the top line of data (row 3 as it happens) when making a template, the subsequent rows stay with the default formatting when I create a new list using that template.
So what controls the formatting of generated rows?

Hi dglp, the List template doesn't apply the formatting of row 3 to the following rows. You can customize the template to format the rows as you'd like. Select a range of rows (such as 3 to 1000) and then set the desired format. When the list generates, you'll see all the rows within the customized range use the format you specified.
I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks Dan,
That leads to partial success.
I've set rows in alternate colors, which works.
I've also set a lower border on alternate rows, but that has been overwritten in the generated calendar.

Hi dglp, the border color comes from a conditional format. You could edit the conditional format to use the border color you'd like, or delete the conditional formatting rule. I assume you're familiar with conditional formatting in Excel. If not, the page linked below provides more detail:

Many of the other PrintableCal templates also use conditional formatting rules, not just the List template.
I hope that helps. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

OK. I half suspected as much. Thanks for the clarification.
