Search by Category

Under Edit \ Search, we currently have 'Find this text' and 'in this field'. It would be really helpful if another option were added - to search by Category. Some people may also appreciate having the option to search items by Priority.

Thanks!

Hi User2050, thank you for the suggestion. Actually, you can search/filter the Event List based on values in the Category column. The Event List provides a lot more flexibility in how events can be searched than the (intentionally simplified) Edit->Search window.

Please see the sections titled "Searching for Events" and "Filtering Columns" in the documentation linked below:

That's great - thanks!

In the search window, if one wants to search all entries in the calendar (something like *.*)? Right now, I search by just writing 'a' (as most calendar entries will contain the letter a somewhere :), but is there a way to make sure all entries are included?

Hi User2050, wildcards aren't supported in the Search window. I'll consider adding this in a future release. In the meantime, the Event List can show all events within a specified date range. If you select "All dates" for the date range, the Event List will show every event, except in the case of recurring events, where the first occurrence and the next occurrence will be shown (to prevent the list from having an infinite number of rows).
