Sluggish then crashes
Sluggish then crashes
I am using version 9
To create a new event i double click on the day in question.
Sometimes i need to wait ages for the box to pop up.
Lately i have waited so long that vueminder crashes ?
I mean the calender shuts down "now not visible" and the icon by the clock dissappers.
I then need to go and start the calender from the file within the programs folder.
I then see the new blue box with the progress bar going left to right.
I have used the click to add an event tab shown in the bottom of each day box on the calender and type the name of the event only then to double click it again to open it up.
When i open the calander after this crash the calender only covers 2/3 of the screen and i can see the desktop at the bottom of the calander where it did not open full screen.

Re: Sluggish then crashes
Sounds like an installation problem. Have you tried uninstalling (via the Control Panel) and reinstalling?
If that doesn't fix it, the data or settings might be messed up. Try resetting your data and settings using the utility linked below:
http://www.vueminder.com/download/ResetData.zip
After resetting the data and restarting VueMinder, use the “Restore Data” command on the File menu to restore from a backup. Try to pick a backup that was generated before you started seeing the problem.
Note, I’m assuming you didn’t disable the automatic backup feature, which generates a backup of the data every 8 hours (by default). If you don’t see any backup checkpoints, search your hard drive for files having a “vbackup” extension, or browse to the “Backups” subfolder of VueMinder’s private data folder. The path can be found in the Program Options window. You should see some backup files in that folder, unless you changed the backup settings.
Please let me know if that doesn't fix the problem.

I have done a search for vbackup as mentioned but nothing was found ?
How or where do i check if the software does a backup every 8 hours by default.
I have checked through the options from the drop down list but dont see anything.

Re: Sluggish then crashes
I did find that earlier but it only had a backup for 8 days ago,and yes the tick was not in the box so no other backups.
When trying to run the reset data exe file i am told that i have nothing on my pc that will open it.
Having a look around most things i see you need to pay for or want to download a register scan etc.
Can you advise something other that what i have mentioned.
Once i run the data exe file i will backup from the file 8 days ago.

Re: Sluggish then crashes
ResetData.zip contains the following files:
ResetData.exe
ResetData.exe.config
Double-click the file named "ResetData.exe". I'm guessing you have Windows Explorer configured to hide file extensions. In that case, double-click the file named "ResetData".
