Error processing ...

Post by VMUser » Fri May 25, 2012 3:35 am

Today I got this error message from VueMinder:
Error processing 'http://mydomain.de/MyFolder/MyCalendar.ics'...

The error is: expecting "COLON", found '
' at line 1387 and column 5.

The file may not be fully compliant with the iCalendar (RFC 2445) specification. Click the 'Validate' button below to check.
I checked with Validator but it says:
Congratulations; your calendar validated!
Don't know what happens.

Had similar error for webcal://www.webcal.fi/cal.php?id=188&locationname="Place name" Has been working for the last 4 or 5 versions. I updated using update at bottom right of main calendar window, updated OK.
Sorry, closed error window too quick did not get exact info. Happened only once so far.

Hi VMUser, could you email me a copy of the ICS file, so I can determine why you're getting an error?

Hi Joe, this is the local weather calendar, correct? I tested with the weather calendar for St. Louis but didn't see any errors. What's the URL you are subscribing to? I'll try testing with the same city's weather calendar, to see if I can duplicate the problem.

File sent.

P.S.: I never get notification emails from this forum. Any reason for this?

Hi Joe, thanks for the link. I added a new calendar subscription using that link and didn't see any errors. As far as I can tell, the subscription is working correctly. Maybe this was a temporary glitch with the ICS file that is hosted on the server. Also, can you confirm you're using the latest version (9.1.2)? That's the version I used for testing the subscription.

Today happened this error again:
Error processing 'http://mydomain.de/MyFolder/MyCalendar.ics'...

The error is: expecting "COLON", found '
' at line 989 and column 39.
Using now version 9.1.2

It's always the same calendar (out of 3) I already sent you via email. The subscription update is set to every 1 minute. But this error happens only once or twice a day.

Thank you for the information. I didn't see the error when subscribing to the file you had sent via email, but I didn't leave it running all day and syncing every minute. I'll try that and will let you know if I'm able to duplicate the problem.
