A beta of VueMinder 10.0 is now available to download. A summary of the updates in 10.0 can be found here. You can also read below (and the posts that follow) for more details about the improvements that have been made for version 10.0.
If VueMinder is currently installed, the beta will install on top of the current version. There's no need to uninstall the previous version. All data will be preserved when updating to the beta.
Notes...
The VueMinder beta is currently available in 24 different languages. However, some of translations are still a bit rough (to put it nicely).
Anyone that completes a translation will be eligible for a free license of the Pro version. If you already own a Pro or Ultimate license you can take your pick of free lifetime updates, a free USB license, or a free upgrade from the Pro to Ultimate version.
Version 10.0 adds a new "Language" menu where one of the 24 available languages can be selected. After selecting a language, the translation can be validated or improved by using the "Translation Editor" command on the Language menu.
Initially, all translated values have been marked as invalid. There are nearly 3000 different words and phrases that need to be translated. These are listed in the translation editor window. Many values might already be correctly translated. In that case, the check box in the Validated column should be clicked to confirm the translation. If the translation has an error, it can be corrected by clicking its cell and editing as needed. After editing, be sure to click the Validated check box to confirm the translated value has been corrected.
There's a row at the top of the list that allows filtering of the list. For example, if you notice the text in one of the other windows is incorrect, you can use the filter to find which row(s) contain the incorrect text. There's a button on the left side of the filter cell that can be used to specify how the filter should work (begins with, contains, etc). The translation editor window can be kept open while continuing to use VueMinder as you normally would. When the translation is saved, any corrections will automatically appear throughout the rest of VueMinder. There's no need to exit/restart or mess with 3rd party tools.
An important thing to note is that some of the translated values will contain text like {0}, {1}, {2}, etc. These are placeholders for other values that are inserted at runtime. Its very important these placeholders be preserved in the translated text. If the placeholders are accidentally removed, the program could stop working properly. Also, some of the translated values contain HTML codes (<p>, <br>, <a>, etc). If you don't know HTML, don't worry. Just try to wrap the translated text in the HTML codes and refer to the codes in the original text if you're not sure where the HTML codes should go.
After editing the translation, make sure to save using the button at the top of the window. When you're ready to submit the updates, click the "Send Update" button at the top of the window. After we review the updates they will be uploaded to the VueMinder website. The "Download Latest" button can be used to download the latest translation file and merge it with your own local updates, in case multiple people would like to collaborate on translating the same language.
Any languages that have 80% or more of their translation validated will be included in the official 10.0 release. The other languages will be made available for download from the VueMinder website, so translation work can continue after 10.0 is released. If there's a language that isn't covered yet that you would like to help translate, please let us know and we'll add it.

VueMinder Lite 10.0 Beta 1
Here's a summary of the updates in the Lite version. These improvements are also in the Pro and Ultimate versions.
- Added a Language menu for translating VueMinder into other languages.
- Improved the Upcoming Events list on the desktop calendar to better handle events that have start/end times and span multiple days.
- Corrected voice reminders to use the specified template instead of reciting the template tags.
- Corrected editing recurring events when the "This occurrence and all that follow" option is selected. Sometimes this would result in duplicate events.
- Corrected the desktop calendar opacity to be restored to the previous value when VueMinder is restarted.
- Corrected the main window to restore its previous size when opened via the task tray icon or global hotkey. Previously, the window would always be maximized when re-opened.
- Corrected the text editor to only show the "Ctrl+click to follow hyperlink" tooltip when the mouse is hovered over a link.
- Corrected the Group/Folder drop-down list on the Contact Editor to not include "Default" if no contacts belong to that group.
- Corrected the Location Editor to allow the upper/lower-case of location names to be changed, instead of giving an error message about the new name not being unique.
- Other minor improvements and corrections.
The Pro and Ultimate versions include all the improvements made to the Lite version. In addition, they add the following...
- Improved publishing of ICS calendars to FTP servers. A more robust FTP technique is now being used. This required the addition of a server Port field to the Publish tab of the Calendar Properties window.
- Corrected display of the color sidebar on tasks. In some cases, the sidebar was not appearing.
- Corrected syncing of recurring events with Outlook. In some cases, recurring event durations were being incorrectly modified.
- Corrected the Event, Task, and Note list activation. When a list tab is activated, the calendar will no longer jump to the date of the item occurring on the first row.
- Other minor improvements and corrections.
