Desktop Calendar Shortcut Key

Hello all,

I have set the shortcut key to show the desktop calendar to F2 wanting to simply press the button to show/hide the desktop calendar, but it doesn't work.

I have found that double clicking the vueminder icon will open the program, then since the program is now opened and is focused on, pressing the F2 key will display the calendar. After the calendar is opened, focus on the program window is lost, so pressing the F2 key won't do anything, however if I click on the program window again to regain focus, I can press the F2 key to then hide the desktop calendar.

Is there a way to set the key to a global state so there is no focus issue.

Is it even possible to simply press a key and toggle the desktop calendar to show/hide?

Hi ricco, welcome to the forums. A global shortcut for displaying the desktop calendar can be assigned at the bottom of the Program Options window, which is accessed via the Options menu.

Hi VueSoft,

The "Show Desktop Calendar" has been set and is assigned the F2.

The box is checked, so the option is selected, and the F2 key appears in the text window, so it has been assign correctly.

But it's not working.

Try picking a value from the drop-down list in the Program Options. I'm not sure why F2 is even showing up. The list should have Ctrl+Shift+F2, but not F2 by itself.

I used the custom menu and keyboard layout under the tools menu to set the f2 key for the display of the calendar. After that the key value then appears in the drop down list...anyway

Changing to a pre-defined value from the drop down list solves the problem so the calendar now displays.

Just one more question, is it possible to set the shortcut to toggle the display between show/hide? At the moment the key just shows the calendar.

Hi ricco, unfortunately the shortcut isn't configured to toggle between showing and hiding. I have this on my list of planning improvements and will let you know when it's completed.
