Dateformat in excel

Post by Kjeldc » Fri Sep 14, 2012 8:16 am

When exporting to excel I'd like the date columns to show weekdays, but after formating the columns I stil have to delete the space in front of the first ciffer in every cell.

Is there an easyer way to do this?

Regards Kjeld

Hi Kjeld, thank you for the feedback. I'm not sure what you mean by "ciffer". If the problem is the day of week names aren't appearing in the exported spreadsheet, I believe this is an Excel and Windows regional format thing - not necessarily related to VueMinder. In any case, please try this:

1. Export the events to Excel. Make sure to check the box labeled "Export separate date and time fields" on the Export Events window.

2. In Excel, right-click the "Start date" column.

3. Select "Format Cells" from the popup menu.

4. On the "Number" tab, select "Date" as the category. Under the "Type" list, double-click the date format that includes the day of week name.

5. Repeat for the "End date" column.

I tried this on my system using Excel 2010 and it worked. Hopefully it will work on your system as well.

" after formating the columns I stil have to delete the space in front of the first ciffer in every cell. "

As you can see on the printscreen, I place the cursor in front of the first ciffer in the date, here 1, and press backspace. Only then does the day show.

Hi Kjeld, could you try the following (quoted from above):
1. Export the events to Excel. Make sure to check the box labeled "Export separate date and time fields" on the Export Events window.
Does that fix it?

Sorry. My mistake. I was exporting from the Events Window and could not see that box. Found it in " File Export"

Thanks for your patience and help,

Kjeld
